Join This Side of Sad author Karen Smythe at a literary mix-and-mingle event at 5 PM on Sunday, March 25, at Famous Last Words in Toronto, ON.

Part mystery, part elegy, This Side of Sad begins with an ending: the violent enigma of a man's death. Was it an accident, or did James commit suicide? A gifted storyteller reminiscent of Alice Munro or Joan Didion, Karen Smythe finds poetic complexity in the seeming trivialities of the ordinary.

Junction Reads and Writes is a monthly reading series featuring the best in new and emerging fiction and non-fiction. Other authors reading at this event will include Christopher Cameron (Dr. Bartolo’s Umbrella Memoir and Other Tales from my Surprising Operatic Life), Kevin Hardcastle (In the Cage), Kasia Jaronczyk (Lemons), and Terri Favro (Once Upon a Time in West Toronto).

This is a FREE event. All are welcome to attend. Books will be available for purchase.
