Join two Mississauga poets in a double book launch: Sanna Wani (My Grief, the Sun, House of Anansi) and Manahil Bandukwala (MONUMENT, Brick Books).

Sanna and Manahil are two friends who exchange poems and songs, go for walks along the Credit River, and enjoy picnics with their friends.

This event celebrates the launch of Sanna Wani’s My Grief, the Sun (House of Anansi) and Manahil Bandukwala’s MONUMENT (Brick Books). In Sanna vivid debut, the body is the page, time is a friend and every voice, a soul. Manahil’s MONUMENT is a conversation with Mughal Empress Mumtaz Mahal, which moves her legacy beyond the Taj Mahal.

The evening will feature readings by Sanna and Manahil, and will be hosted by local creative Roha Hena. There will also be an open mic with 10 slots! Sign-up is first-come, first-served.

Books are available from our official bookseller for the evening, local Streetsville bookstore The Book Wardrobe.

This event takes place on the sacred territory of the Anishnabek, the Haudenosaunee, the Huron-Wendat and Petun First Nations, the Seneca, and most recently the Mississaugas of the Credit River.
