Exchange and challenge ideas, meet new friends, and enjoy engaging discussions about books in a friendly and informal setting – a different book will be discussed each month. Monthly gatherings are facilitated by Beverley Fingerhut. Make a day of it – come for our free morning Book Club gathering and stay for our afternoon cultural program, concert, lecture or workshop.
November’s discussion will focus on Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Americanah - a novel of immigration, dislocation and the power of love - recounts the Nigerian protagonist’s 15 years in America, her experiences in relationships and studies, her struggles with the experience of racism in American culture, and the many varieties of racial distinctions that exist.
