Between the Lines Releasing COVID-19 Essay Anthology 'Sick of the System'
Looking for some thoughtful perspective and productive solutions during our current pandemic? Between the Lines has got you covered!
The Toronto-based radical indie publisher has announced the surprise release of Sick of the System, an anthology of essays by their roster of authors on topics ranging from poverty, healthcare, incarceration, Indigenous communities, and more. Focusing on pre-existing systemic flaws now exposed by the arrival of COVID-19, the essays seek to use the global crisis as an opportunity for social change. From its description:
"From professors to poets, the authors of Sick of the System speak in one voice: We can turn our backs on 'normal.' We can demand divestment, redistribution, and mutual aid. We can seize new forms of solidarity with both hands. As the world holds its breath, revolutionary ideas have an unprecedented chance to gain ground. There should be no going back."
The book is currently available as an electronic download via their website on a pay-what-you-can scale.
