The Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival will present its 24th edition April 28 to May 8, 2022. Subject to the epidemiological situation and the safety measures in effect, this edition will in large part feature a renewed in-person format, all while proposing a targeted selection of virtual events. Once more, public discussions, roundtables, debates, readings, master classes, and podcasts will provide a rich display for both authors and the public to relish.

Blue Metropolis is one of North America’s most important multilingual literary festivals.

For over 20 years, Blue Metropolis has presented the very best in international, Canadian and Quebec literature, with increasing success. International prizes, author events, readings, writing workshops, talks, literary performances and exhibitions are on offer each spring, in Montreal, for the enjoyment of those who love literature and the exchange of ideas. Throughout the years, the Festival has presented a great variety of authors, including international authors Carlos Fuentes, Imbolo Mbue, Marcello Fois, Michela Murgia, Alain Mabanckou, Roberto Saviano, St phane Audeguy, Maryse Cond , Charif Majdalani, Norman Mailer, Philippe Forest, Chantal Thomas, Michel Pastoureau, Marcus Malte, Pascal Bruckner, Daniel Mandelsohn, Abdourahman Waberi and Agata Tuszyńska. Featured alongside renowned Canadian and Quebec authors (e.g., Mavis Gallant, Margaret Atwood, Charles Taylor), the Festival has fostered the contributions of a wide range of writers, ensuring the inclusion of established and emerging talents.
Key moments throughout the year to mobilize children and parents.

The TD-Blue Metropolis Children’s Festival now runs all year long, with events in schools, libraries and bookstores near you, or online. A few meet and greet with children’s authors will be offered during the 2022 Spring Edition of the Festival.
