Join Suzanne Elki Yoko Hartmann on April 19 for a reading and Q-&-A session about her book "The Nail That Sticks Out: Reflections on the Postwar Japanese Canadian Community." The work explores an evolving community and tackles issues of identity, belonging and racism. Steeped in history and cultural arts, it includes portraits of family and community members. The event takes place in the museum during SakuraFest at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre in Toronto, 6 Sakura Way, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Books will be available at the gift shop. Admission and parking are free and light refreshments will be served.
