Richard English is Professor of Politics at Queen's University Belfast. He is a frequent commentator on a variety of media, including BBC, CNN, ITN, NPR, the Irish Times, the Times Literary Supplement, the Guardian, and the Financial Times.

This lecture is to honour the historical series, McGill-Queen’s Studies in the History of Religion, and especially the support and counsel to the series provided by Father Edward Jackman and the Jackman Foundation.
