Toronto Arts in the Parks and the Swansea Historical Society will present a Sesquicentennial Authors' Symposium in High Park in honour of Canada's 150th Birthday, featuring a selection of distinguished local writers reading excerpts from their work.
Admission is free. Everyone is welcome! The guest of honour, Canada's Parliamentary Poet Laureate George Elliott Clarke, will kick off the festivities. Authors who are scheduled to read include: George Elliott Clarke, Melanie Mah, Neil Ross, Danila Botha Vernon, Michelle Alfano, Andrew Borkowski, David DePoe, Angie Littlefield, Will O'Hara, Bruce Meyer, Kevin Hardcastle, and the Event Coordinator, Bianca Lakoseljac.
The event will start at 4 pm, Sunday, August 27, 2017, RAIN OR SHINE. Location: High Park covered picnic area #26. Enter the park through the gates on Parkside Drive opposite High Park Boulevard and continue west. Area 26, which is 100 metres on the left, contains permanent seating under cover for approximately 50 people.
