Poetry in Transit has been running since 1996, making it the longest-running poetry on transit program in Canada. Poems eligible for the project must be by writers who reside in BC and published in book form by Canadian publishers. Poems are submitted by publishers and selected by a jury. The 2020/21 jury included poets Evelyn Lau and Rob Taylor, and Jennifer Froese from TransLink.
Eight of the featured poets will be reading in a virtual launch event as part of the Word Vancouver festival, Friday, September 25 at 1:00 p.m. PST. Join host Evelyn Lau for readings by Dominique Bernier-Cormier, Susan Buis, Francine Cunningham, Ruth Daniell, Adrienne Drobnies, Cornelia Hoogland, Kyla Jamieson, and Fiona Tinwei Lam.
