Toronto Arts Council has partnered with the Ontario Book Publisher’s Organization (OBPO) to provide literary artists from East York, Etobicoke, North York and Scarborough with professional development events. The OBPO will engage its publishing membership to connect emerging and established poets, novelists, short story writers and spoken word artists from outside the downtown core with networking, educational and promotional opportunities. This partnership includes a commissioning component, seminars, workshops, and reading events. The works of selected writers will appear on Open Book Toronto’s website and in a published anthology. East End Arts, Arts Etobicoke, North York Arts and Scarborough Arts are partnering with the OBPO to bring these celebratory literary events to their neighbourhoods.
