Contest: Enter to Win Hopeful Books Tackling Tough Subjects from Groundwood
Groundwood Books, the Toronto children's publisher responsible for some of the most beautiful and acclaimed titles for kids in Canada, is giving away three books that represent the press's unique ability to engage with difficult and important subject matter in a child-friendly way.
Each title tackles a heartbreaking but deeply human issue, including stillbirth, serious illness, and family separation in ways that highlight growth, hope, and resilience. Honest and powerful, the books introduce young readers to difficult subjects or, crucially, help children navigate situations that may be similar to ones they have experienced. An excellent resource for parents and caregivers, libraries, and educators, the books are created by some of the most decorated writers and artists working in KidLit.
The Groundwood Hope and Healing Prize Pack includes one copy of each of:
- Do You Remember? by Sydney Smith
- Because I Already Loved You by Andrée-Anne Cyr, illustrated by Bérengère Delaporte
- We Are Lions by Jens Mattsson illustrated by Jenny Lucander, translated by B.J. Woodstein
