December Gratitude: Check Out 5 of Our Favourite Writer-in-Residence Posts from 2021
This month, as the year winds down, we'll be looking back and highlighting some of our favourite pieces from Open Book this year. Our writer-in-residence posts, our author interviews, our book excerpts, and our columnists' pieces have made 2021 a great year for us and hopefully have brought you lots of reading pleasure.
To kick off the year in review, we're linking five of our (many!) favourites from the 2021 writer-in-residence postings. It was hard to choose, but check these out and explore the archives for more great reading. And stay tuned this month for round ups of our favourite columns, interviews, and excerpts too.
2021 Writer-in-Residence Posts in Review:
- Yejide Kilanko on What the Nigerian idiom "We Move" can teach us about writing
- Samantha Garner on How Dungeons and Dragons can help writers develop characters
- Wendy Orr on Why knowing what you feel is more important than writing what you know
- Lindsay Zier Vogel on How to avoid losing your identity as a writer when you're a parent
- Leah Horlick on Performance boundaries for poets (works for writers of all genres!)
A big thank you to all our talented writers-in-residence this year and every year.
