FOLD Kids Book Fest Announces Young Readers Book Club
Great news for book-loving kids (and their parents!)
The 2020 FOLD (Festival of Literary Diversity) Kids Book Fest has announced the creation of the Young Readers Book Club.
Focusing on books by acclaimed Canadian authors, the inaugural session of the quarterly online club will take place Saturday, October 2 during the second annual edition of the festival. YA author Nafiza Azad will appear in the first session, discussing her novel The Candle and the Flame (Scholastic Inc.) in a discussion moderated by FOLD Kids Coordinator Ardo Omer.
A full schedule will be revealed on September 2 when registration opens.
“We’re excited to be able to expand our programming to support young readers year-round" says FOLD Artistic Director Jael Richardson. "We believe introducing young readers to a wide range of stories and storytellers is important for their personal growth and development. Getting young people to read for enjoyment outside of school is also critical to the book industry as a whole.”
